Mining

Hard, repetitive, and reliable. Mining is the job that's always there when nothing else is.

Where to start

First take the job: open your laptop (I), go to Career, and press Take job. The
workplaces only show on your map once it's your job. One job at a time; switching costs a
10-minute wait.

The quarry is out east, past Sandy Shores. You'll need a drill, which is sold on site.

The work

Drill at the rock face, carry what you extract to the smelter, and process it into something worth
selling. It's a loop: drill, smelt, sell, repeat. Different deposits give different materials, and
the better ones sit further into the quarry.

There are also jobs posted on site that ask for a quantity of a particular ore, and those pay better
than selling it piece by piece.

Getting paid

Per completed cycle and per job completed, straight into your pocket, and it rises as you get better
at it.

Worth knowing

• The drill wears out. Keep a spare.
• Mining pairs well with recycling and crafting — raw material has more than one buyer.
• It's a long way from a hospital. Don't fall.
