What we record.

We log activity heavily to keep the community safe from hacking, attacks and ban evasion. Here is exactly what, why and for how long.

Who we are

Restless Souls RP is a fan-run GTA V roleplay community. This covers restlesssoulsrp.com, apply.restlesssoulsrp.com, our staff portal, our FiveM server and our Discord server. Questions or requests: open a support ticket in our Discord.

What we record

Your IP address on every page you open on our sites, including pages that don’t exist or are blocked.
What you do on our sites: pages opened, links and buttons clicked, when a form is sent, the page you came from, your browser, and how long you stayed. We don’t record what you type into forms — except applications, which you send to us on purpose.
Approximate location worked out from your IP address: country, region, city and internet provider, and whether the address belongs to a VPN, hosting company or Tor. We never ask for your exact (GPS) location.
Device details: screen size, time zone, languages, graphics card, installed fonts and similar settings, combined into a device ID.
Two cookies on restlesssoulsrp.com and its subdomains: rs_vid (a random visitor ID) and rs_fp (the device ID). They last up to 400 days, so we can tell when the same browser comes back.
When you sign in with Discord: your Discord ID, username, display name and picture. From then on, everything above is linked to that account.
In game: the identifiers FiveM gives us (such as license, Discord, Steam and hardware tokens), the IP address you connect from, when you play, and staff actions like warnings, kicks and bans.
In our Discord: joins, leaves, name changes, edited and deleted messages, and voice channel moves.

Why

To keep the community secure: spotting hacking attempts and attacks, catching alt accounts and ban evasion, investigating reports, and having a reliable record when there’s a dispute about who did what. We don’t sell any of it, we don’t use it for ads, and there are no third-party analytics or advertising trackers on our sites.

Who can see it

IP addresses, locations and device details are visible only to the server owners, and every look-up is logged. Staff see what they need for moderation, such as in-game history and bans. We only share records when the law requires it, or to report an attack or abuse to the service involved.

How long we keep it

Website, device and Discord activity logs are deleted automatically after one year. Accounts, applications, bans and in-game history are kept while the community runs, so bans stay enforced.

Location data

Locations are looked up on our own server using the DB-IP database (CC BY 4.0). Your IP address isn’t sent to them.

Your choices

Blocking cookies or scripts stops click and device details being recorded, but page requests and your IP address are still logged by our server. If you want to know what we hold about you, or have a question, open a support ticket in our Discord.
