Police

LSPD, BCSO, SASP and Roxwood PD: how to join, where to start your shift, and what the job involves.

Policing is a whitelisted job — you apply for it rather than picking it up in the city.

Getting in

Apply on the applications page. We look for people who can hold a scene in character,
not people with the fastest reaction time. If you're accepted, a member of staff sets your job and
rank, and you'll be pointed at your department's channel in Discord.

There are four departments and they share the same tools: LSPD in the city, BCSO covering
Blaine County, SASP on the highways, and Roxwood PD in Roxwood. Every department signs on at
Mission Row for now.

Starting a shift

Go to Mission Row and sign on. Your job menu is F5 — duty, equipment, cuffs,
searching, impound. Your MDT is the MDT app on your laptop (I), or type /mdt: profiles, reports, warrants, BOLOs and charges. Calls come
in on O, and F7 drops a waypoint on the last one.

Get on duty before anything else. Off duty you're a civilian, and dispatch won't reach you.

The work

Most of a shift is traffic, calls and paperwork. When a shop, bank or jewellery job goes off,
dispatch alerts you with a location. Evidence matters here — casings, prints, DNA and residue are
all collectible with Left Alt at a scene, and the MDT is where it gets written up. A charge
that isn't documented is a charge that won't hold.

Vehicles come from the station. You have marked and unmarked units, motorcycles, a UTV, and air
support. Spike strips, trackers and the grappler are on the patrol cars.

Getting paid

You're on a salary, paid every ten minutes while you're on duty, and it goes up with rank. Fines
you issue go to the department's account rather than your pocket.

Worth knowing

  • Cuffs, searches and force all read badly when they're rushed. Give people a chance to respond.
  • A radio is worth more than a rifle. Call things in.
  • Prison is real and sentences run in real time, so an arrest is a commitment for both of you.
