Trucking

Long haul work: pick up a trailer, deliver it, get paid by the mile.

No application, no interview. If you can drive something big without destroying it, you can earn.

Where to start

First take the job: open your laptop (I), go to Career, and press Take job. The
workplaces only show on your map once it's your job. One job at a time; switching costs a
10-minute wait.

Head to the trucking depot and take a contract. You can use your own rig or rent one — renting costs
a fee and a deposit you get back when the truck comes home in one piece.

The work

You collect a trailer, drive it where the contract says, and drop it. That's the job. Pay is by the
mile, so the long runs across the map are worth taking, and the cargo type changes what you're
carrying and what it's worth. Higher ranks unlock better contracts, including refrigerated loads.

Drive like the trailer matters, because it does — destroying one costs you considerably more than
the run pays, and abandoning a job has a fee of its own.

Getting paid

Cash on delivery, calculated from the distance you actually covered. An escort driver riding with
you takes a share, which makes convoys worth running with a friend.

Worth knowing

  • Check what a run pays before you accept it. The map is bigger than it looks.
  • The rental deposit comes back. The damage bill doesn't.
  • Fuel is not free and a loaded rig drinks it.
